Honey Mead

(1 customer review)

Honey Mead, also known as ‘honey wine,’ is believed to be the world’s oldest alcoholic drink and typically associated with days gone by. But this fermented honey drink is tiptoeing out of the shadows, and today mead is one of the fastest growing alcoholic beverages in the world. Made with orange blossom honey from Tyre and fermented for over 9 months, our semi-sweet 2017 Honey Mead brings with it light floral notes with citrus and honey. At 13% ABV, it pairs perfectly with subtle cheeses and is well-suited to rich foods including risotto and foie gras. Be sure not to overlook the magic it can add to desserts and cocktails.

Our long term goal is to provide local, artisanal and sustainably grown honey to a global community of health aware, nature loving individuals.

With produce and plants that befit a lush Mediterranean paradise, Lebanon has some pretty happy bees, and this beautiful shop is where to go to taste the fruits of their labour.

The bees feast on the Cedar trees of Barouk, the oak trees of Keserwan, […] and much more. By going to where nature is in bloom, L’Atelier Du Miel produces more than a dozen artisanal honeys.

The startup is distinguished by its unique production method, which relies on the movement of hives to follow the flowering seasons, allowing bees to feed only on the nectar of flowers and trees
